People the world over have been moved by Rachel Platten’s hit single “Fight Song.” The empowering “take back my life” song struck a chord with everyone from “tweens” and teens, right on up to the 50+ crowd. And for good reason: we all need to remind ourselves that we have the power to change our lives, even when things look their bleakest.
“When I wrote ‘Fight Song,’ I was in a particular low point,” said the artist to ABC News. “I needed to remind myself to not give up, that I still believed in myself and that I still had fight left,” Platten said. “I didn’t intend to write [‘Fight Song’], you know, for the world to hear to be honest. I wrote it ’cause I needed it. And I wrote it ’cause I needed that reminder and I needed hope.”
